This Author Opinion Survey was undertaken as one element of the EU QESP Curriculum Research Study. The purpose of the Study is to gather opinion regarding the effectiveness and accuracy of the current Textbooks, Teachers’ Guides and Curriculum Booklets for Tajik Grade 5, Biology Grade 8 and General History Grade 11 with a view to making recommendations to MOES for their improvement in the context of the need to effectively establish a competency-based curriculum. Well-designed and curriculum-complaint textbooks are among the most powerful means of effecting curricular change. The QESP Curriculum Study is intended as a Proof of Concept to MOES that a systematic collection of opinion from textbook authors, teachers, head-teachers, subject experts and content experts is the scientific and effective way of regularly revising curricular and teaching materials.
