MONITORING REPORT ON THE RESULTS OF THE COURSE IMPACT “REALIZATION OF COMPETENCE-BASED APPROACH IN TEACHING SCIENCES AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY”

In January 2018, 24 000 teachers in all regions of Tajikistan underwent 40 hours training course on “Realization of Competence-based Approach in Teaching Sciences and Information Technology”. From April to June 2018, monitoring of the course impact had been coordinated with the MoES and conducted in seven regions: Rasht, Bokhtar, Kulob, Panjakent, Khujand, Dushanbe and DRS, an Khorog. The following tools had been developed for monitoring: Lesson observation form (see Annex 1) and Teacher’s Questionnaire (see Annex 2). The monitoring was held by a trained team of 4 selected members from among of the course developers. MoES had selected 2 schools – an urban and a rural one in each region. Taking into account the above-mentioned sampling, 38 lessons were observed, including 26 lessons of teachers with more than 5 years of teaching experience and 12 ones of teachers with less than 5 years of teaching experience.
